Dottie is closing in on her Championships

<

Not there yet, but, getting closer each show. She has both her majors and only lacks 3 singles. We can cross our fingers she can pick those up by the close of the year. She needs one major on the field to get her AKC FC. She already has her ASFA FCh. Wouldn't that be sweet to be a dual champion by 2009?

Cinnamon is still running for her MC title and loves every minute of it.

McGuire is on rest right now for an unknown injury. We are thinking it is in the hip area possibly, or maybe a groin muscle pull. 3 separate vets agree they do not feel it is an ACL. Whatever it is, is making me(and him) bonkers. Too nice of a dog to be relegated to jail time rest.

Here are some photos of the crew.

Dot wins another major!

Yea Dottie!!! Thank you Grahm for handling her so well to WB and Jan to BOW for that crossover major. I just love my super special Dot!! She is such a pretty girl, though my prejudice shows through. I will update with the win photo when I receive it. I think it may actually be a decent one. Hopefully. :)

Greenville SC show report! Dot wins a 4pt major!

Angie Bass and I headed off to Greenville, SC for a fun girls weekend with our dogs. We had a great time just hanging out with all the whippet people, going out to eat and just plainly enjoying ourselves!

Friday, McGuire won his huge open dog class and got a giant rosette. He was reserve winners dog.

Saturday, Sashi won her BBE class and was reserve winners bitch.

Sunday, Dottie won her huge open bitch class and while I sat and held by breath...She won the major!! Yeah!!! A 4pt major for Dot!!!! She is such a beautiful girl. I just love her dearly. Thank you Sooooooo much Grahm Swayze for the incredible handling on her. She can be very naughty in the ring and Grahm handles it with. I am so proud she is both major pointed on the field and in the ring!

So, I can now say with pride both my dogs are major pointed! Thanks to Angie Bass
For McGuire's first major and Jan Swayze Curry and Grahm Swayze for his other points

Here are some photos with the dogs getting celebratory photos with Tanis, my favorite model. Her brother is loved every bit as much, but, he hates the camera!

Box practice and cookout!

I am very late in added these photos! Life tends to get in the way and all. We were able to go a few weeks ago to Les Perkarksi's for box practice and a cookout. Now, it was one of the most gourmet cookouts and delicious picnics I have ever had! Les and Shirri are such wonderful and gracious hosts!

Dot broke out of the box like a champ, but, she has done it before. As always, she stayed right on the lure. She has prey drive and that desire to be first that is just amazing

I have to give big thanks to Neil Copeland for taking all these photos. I really appreciate it!!!

McGuire was a GOOD boy and broke out of the box for the first time like it was nothing. He beat the lure to the end. Both Dot and McGuire brought the Jack-a-lure back to us and made it so we didn't have to restring. What good dogs!!

Isn't he handsome?

Running for his certification

Cinnamon is great at breaking out of the box!

Oak Ridge Kennel Club show....

It is always so nice to have a show close to home. The whole family got to go and enjoy the weekend, yet, sleep in our own beds. Larry was thrilled to see his dog, McGuire win WD, BOB puppy and a puppy group 1! He even got in the win photo :)

I didn't take any photos, so, I will put up some of the dogs and kids. Can't do a post without SOME photos! I added one of Taylor and Rufus, because, I just don't want to leave them out :)

Great weekend at Clemson

The dogs and I loaded up and went to Clemson. We stayed with Kitty of Wilhaus Whippets who is McGuire's breeder. McGuire got to have a reunion with a couple of his siblings and his mom. I think he was very glad to see all of them.

Dot was RWB each day and showed very well with Jan Swayze Curry handling her. She is looking very beautiful and moves like a dream. McGuire was WD/BOS on Saturday and RWD on Sunday. Jan also handled him beautifully. He is such a happy goof ball. He is turning out to be a gorgeous dog with a personality to die for. He thinks every passerby is there to see him and greets them accordingly. He loves his people and his kids(and any other people and kids! :D)

I don't have any show photos, so, I will show some I took recently in the studio. I was using a wide angle lens so their faces are a little bigger in these than they are in reality. I still like them :)

Updates! Dot wins a 5pt major on the field!

We had a great weekend in Perry, GA. Both dogs showed really well. Granted, we did not come home with any points in the ring, but, Dot was second in a very large open bitch class. Grahm Swayze did an excellent job handling her. McGuire showed beautifully for Karen Bryant, but, he was obviously just not what the judges were looking for. I find him beautiful and Larry finds him perfect :)

Dot came in 3rd on Saturday on the field and 1st on Sunday, giving her a major and a total of 7 points for the weekend! Yeah Dot!

Here are some photos to update this poor neglected blog!

McGuire's first show.......

McGuire made his ring debut this past weekend in Atlanta. He went with and was handled by Angie Bass. She made him part of her family and he got to sleep not just by her, but on her. Silly dog. Angie did a terrific job with him, he had fun, he was happy, he was relaxed and enjoyed himself.

Along with the fun and loving her got, Angie handled him to a reserve at his first time in the ring on Friday. I was so thrilled I had her get a win photo. On Saturday he won the match and won a puppy group 3! And the big news, on Sunday, I got to watch him win a 4 point major and best of opposite!!!! YEAH!! Not bad for his first time out.

Thank you Kitty Williams for breeding this litter and sending me this boy. And Thank you Angie for handling him so expertly and treating him like one of your own!

Merry Christmas from our home to yours!!!

Wishing you a wonderful Christmas and New Year!!! 2007 was a big year for us at our home. Many wonderful things came our way, including the addition of McGuire, who looks to be *very* promising dog. Though, he is a wonderful pet no matter what. Dottie has been amazing both in the show ring and on the coursing field. She is a pretty good couch potato too. :) Cinnamon lives the life of leisure and loves to go coursing. Mostly, she loves her spot next to me on the couch.

I wish for everyone to have a wonderful 2008 in all their lives and endeavors!

Here are some Christmas photos for everyone's enjoyment :)
